Bar Guide
Belle Mere Fitness builds four families of specialty multi-grip barbell. Each is made to order in Tyler, Texas with 1-inch & 2-inch modular sleeves and a 1,100 lb tested capacity. Here's an honest look at what each does best — and where a competitor's design might suit you better.
The quick comparison
| Bar Type | Best For | Grip Pattern | Plate Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cambered | Incline pressing, lat pull-downs, neutral-grip overhead work | Multi-grip with camber offset | 1" & 2" modular |
| Swiss | Close-grip bench, overhead press, rows | Parallel neutral grips | 1" & 2" modular |
| Hammer Curl / Specialty | Curls, hammer curls, angled pressing | Angled / hammer grips | 1" & 2" modular |
| EZ-Curl | Biceps, triceps, rowing | Wavy angled grips | 1" & 2" modular |
Cambered Multi-Grip Bars
The camber puts your hands in front of the bar's centerline — a more natural path for incline pressing, overhead work, and pull-downs without the shoulder stress a straight bar forces. Best if you press often and want joint-friendly arcs.
Where a competitor wins: if you want a true log-bar / football-bar feel for chest-dominant work, a dedicated log bar gives a thicker, more chest-focused contraction. The BMF cambered bar trades that for versatility across press and pull-down planes.
Swiss Multi-Grip Bars
Parallel neutral grips make the Swiss bar the king of close-grip bench and overhead press — load heavy, keep wrists neutral, save shoulders. Our shorty and Olympic versions cover most lifters.
Where a competitor wins: a rackable Swiss bar with full-length sleeves can hold more plates per side for competition-style loads. The BMF modular sleeve system keeps the bar compact instead; choose the competitor if max plate count per side matters more than bar weight and modularity.
Hammer Curl & Specialty Bars
Angled and hammer grips target biceps, triceps, and grip strength with less wrist fatigue. Our slim angled press bar and compact camber keep the footprint small while the hammer curl bar handles heavy curling volume.
Where a competitor wins: for pure arm hypertrophy with rotation, a full revolving EZ / cable-cam bar may feel smoother on maximal sets. BMF specialty bars favor a fixed, heavy-duty, made-in-USA build over rotating complexity.
